Latino Americans Premiere Dates: Tuesdays -- September 17, September 24 and October 1 -- 810 p.m. ET on PBS (check local listings). The series will also be broadcast nationally in Spanish on Vme, the Spanish-language channel on public television, over six consecutive Fridays beginning on September 20. LATINO AMERICANS is a 3-part, 6-hour documentary - the first major documentary series for television to chronicle the rich and varied history and experiences of Latinos, who have for the past 500-plus years helped shape what is today the United States. Led by Emmy Award-winning series producer Adriana Bosch and narrated by Benjamin Bratt, the LATINO AMERICANS series documents the evolution of a new “Latino American” identity from the 1500s to the present day, featuring interviews with close to 100 Latinos from the worlds of politics, business and pop culture. You can watch a preview here: LATINO AMERICANS trailer. The film is scheduled to air on PBS over three Tuesdays beginning September 17, as well as on Vme, the Spanish-language channel on public television, and it will be a major opportunity to have a national discussion on the increasingly-important role that Latinos have played, and continue to play, in shaping America’s culture, history, economy and politics. The documentary series was featured at an afternoon plenary at the 2013 LEAD Summit “Beyond the Broadcast of PBS' LATINO AMERICANS: a Public Engagement and Education Campaign”.
