Offered In-house or at Eazi Training Centre The qualifying learner is able to: • MEWP – Description and application • Risk Assessment • Pre-operation inspection • MEWP Workloads • Operate a MEWP • Conduct shutdown procedures This training programme will equip learners with the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding being able to identify correct means of transport for a particular mobile elevating working platform. Learners will also be able to ensure a MEWP is safely loaded and off-loaded onto vehicles and conduct tie-down and release procedures correctly. The qualifying learner is able to: • Identify and determine correct means of transport for mobile elevated working platform • Conduct pre-trip planning • Load and off-load mobile elevated working platform/s onto or off transport vehicle • Conduct tie-down and release procedures This is not a certified accredited course, but is based on the same principles as unit standard 243272. Leaners acquiring competence on this course is people that need to perform tasks at height using a Mobile Elevated Work Platform. This training is specific to one machine only. The Qualifying learner is able to: • Perform pre-operation daily safety checks • Use the controls on the MEWP • Operate the MEWP safely • Shut down the MEWP • Operate the secondary emergency lowering system • Refuel correctly, or • Recharge correctly This training programme is specifically aimed at people working at height where there is a risk of injury from a fall. Learners will be involved in performing tasks at height. Qualifying learners are able to follow fall arrest principles to perform work at height safely, under supervision of a qualified supervisor.
