SUMMER PRE-REGISTRATION/REGISTRATION
Millsaps students are strongly encouraged to pre-register for all
summer sessions Monday, April 20 and Tuesday, April 21.
Registration for Summer I and Summer Long sessions will be held
on Tuesday, May 26 and for Summer II on Monday, June 29.
Registration forms are available in the Office of Records, Room
142, Academic Complex. Office hours are 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.,
Monday through Friday. Students will be expected to pay at the
time of pre-registration.
Students from other institutions may request summer term
information by contacting the Office of Records at 601-974-1120
or records@millsaps.edu or by visiting the office at its location on
the first floor of the Academic Complex.
Any course may be subject to cancelation if the enrollment
does not meet the required minimum of five (5) students.
COURSE LOAD AND TRANSFER POLICY
The maximum load a student may take is 8 semester hours in
one term or 16 semester hours in two terms, except with the
permission of the Dean of the College.
To transfer credits earned during the summer, a written
transcript request must be filed with the Office of Records of
Millsaps College.
FRESHMAN COURSES
High school graduates planning to enter Millsaps or any other
college may complete a significant portion of their first year work
in the summer. Among the courses recommended for freshmen
are:

A $50 late registration fee will be charged any student who
registers after May 27 or June 30.
A $25 fee will be charged for each change of schedule authorization processed. Any change initiated by the College will have no
fee.
A fee of $250 per semester hour is charged for private music
lessons.
All charges are due and payable at the time of registration.
There is no provision for deferred payment in the summer term.
AUDITING OF COURSES
A non-degree seeking student may audit one course for a
quarter of the cost of tuition and fees for that course. All degreeseeking students will be charged the regular undergraduate per
hour rates. Courses may be audited with approval of the instructor.
Students must indicate their intention to audit at the time of
registration.
MEALS
Meals will be available on a cash basis when the dining room is
open. Students enrolled for classes in the summer terms may use
their Major Bucks account for meals in the cafeteria.
Millsaps College reserves the privilege of changing any or all
charges at any time without prior notice.
RESIDENCE HOUSING
STUDENT RIGHTS
College housing is available during both summer sessions. Students will be assigned to Charles Hall where amenities will include a
single suite-style room, a full kitchen, two sitting areas with flat
screen TVs, an indoor laundry facility, and two study areas. In order
to guarantee a space, students should complete a housing application and submit the completed paperwork to Student Life by Friday,
May 1.

CAMPUS FACILITIES
During summer school the Library computer lab is available
anytime the Library is open unless it is reserved for a class. Sullivan
Harrell computer labs are available only for classes. The Maurice H.
Hall Activities Center, tennis courts, and swimming pool are available to enrolled students.

REFUNDS
Room rent cannot be refunded after the session has begun. A
student who withdraws with good reason from a course or courses
within two days, including the date of the first meeting of classes
on regular schedule, will be entitled to a refund of 80 percent of
tuition and fees; within four days, 60 percent; within six days, 40
percent; within eight days, 20 percent. If a student remains in college for eight class days or more, no refund will be made.
Students receiving Federal Financial Aid will be subject to the
Federal guidelines with respect to withdrawal.

FINANCIAL AID
Undergraduate and Graduate Loans
Loans are available on a limited basis to degree seeking
students at Millsaps who will take at least 6 hours of class
work. Completion of the Summer 2015 Application for Aid
is required. This form is available from the Office of
Financial Aid.
Graduate Scholarships
Dean’s Scholarship renewal requires completion of the
Else School of Management Summer 2015 Application,
available from the Office of Financial Aid.

• to know what resources were considered in calculation of
your need
• to know how much of your financial need, as determined
by Millsaps, has been met
• to request an explanation of the various programs in your
student aid package
• to know Millsaps’ refund policy
• to know what portion of the financial aid you received must
be repaid, what the interest rate is, the total amount that
must be repaid, the payback procedures, the length of time
you have to repay the loan, and when repayment is to
begin

• to know whom to consult concerning your financial

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
It is your responsibility:
• to complete all application forms accurately and truthfully
and submit them on time to the proper location
• to reapply each year that you want financial assistance
• to return all additional documentation, verification, corrections, and/or new information requested by the Office of
Financial Aid
• to read and understand all forms that you are asked to sign
• to inform the Office of Financial Aid of any outside resources
• to notify the Office of Financial Aid of any change in your
financial resources
• to accept the responsibility for all agreements that you sign
• to perform the work that is agreed upon in accepting a
Work-Study award
• to inform the Office of Financial Aid if you withdraw from
Millsaps, drop any courses, or change your name or address
• to sign the Statement of Educational Purpose and the
Certification Statement on Over-payments and Defaults
• if you have a loan, to inform the Office of Financial Aid of
any name or address change and to answer any inquiry from
them concerning your loan, now and after you leave school
• if you have a Federal Perkins loan, to go to the Business
Office during your last semester of attendance at Millsaps
and arrange an exit interview concerning the terms of your
repayment
• if you have a Federal Stafford loan, to take part in the
required entrance and exit interviews offered by Millsaps
