Overview
The N4X Series emergency lighting units feature sealed, gasketed,
NEMA 4X construction and are supplied with maintenance-free 10 year sealed lead-acid batteries. The non-metallic enclosure is corrosion resistant making these units suitable for the harshest industrial environments. Each unit contains a solid state charger, a low voltage battery disconnect circuit, an automatic transfer circuit, a test switch and a charge indicator. The unit’s two lighting heads are fully adjustable. The Product Selector chart indicates each unit’s capabilities for remote fixtures and heads.

Operation
All models provide emergency lighting for up to four hours. Operation is completely automatic. The solid-state charger maintains the battery at full charge. Lighting heads and fixtures are automatically connected to the battery upon loss of utility AC. While in emergency operation, battery damage from a deep discharge is prevented by a low voltage disconnect circuit. When normal power is restored, the emergency lighting is extinguished and the charger recharges the battery to its initial state. Recharging is accomplished within acceptable CSA time standards. Charge rate is indicated by a pilot light. A test switch is provided for checking
Other operating voltages are available as options.
Battery
Emergency power source is a maintenance-free, sealed lead-acid battery with an expected life of 10 years. Carries pro-rata warranty.
Installation
All models are designed for wall mounting. Two fused connections are provided for remote fixture wiring.
Illumination
Standard illumination is provided using 9 watt tungsten PAR 36 lamps, especially designed for emergency lighting. Optional tungsten and halogen lamps are offered in various wattages.
Applications
