DESCRIPTION
The HS1R auxiliary lighting unit provides additional lighting when you
need it most. The fixture's unique design makes it adaptable to many
applications. The HS1R can be used as a free standing unit, or it can be
wall mounted using the keyhole slots provided. A 6-foot cord and plug
are provided for ease of AC power hook-up. The integral handle allows
the HS1R to become portable during power loss when mobility is
necessary. Two PAR20 style heads allow total horizontal and vertical
aiming adjustability. The lamp head selection switch allows the choice for
1 lamp illumination for 4 hours or 2-lamp illumination for 2 hours.

Designed specifically for auxiliary lighting
applications, the PAR 20 sealed beam type
design insures optimum glarefree trapezoidal
light distribution along with horizontal and
vertical adjustment by rotating the lens within
the housing.
Supplied with a 120 VAC, voltage regulated
solid-state charger. Immediately upon
restoration of AC current after a power failure,
the charger provides a high charge rate. The
charge circuit reacts to the condition of the
battery and alters the rate of charge in order to
maintain peak battery capacity and maximize
battery life. Solid-state construction recharges
the battery following a power failure in
accordance with UL 924.
Conveniently located combination Test
Switch/Power Indicator Light allows for manual
verification of proper operation of the transfer
circuit and emergency lamps.
Housing
The Model HS1R housing is constructed of a
durable, impact-resistant thermoplastic material
in a white designer finish. All electrical
components are securely attached in the
housing and provided with a white six-foot cord
and plug for fast 120 VAC connection to a
standard wall receptacle. A steel back mounting
plate is provided with keyhole slots for quick
wall mount installation. The HS1R comes
standard with an integral handle allowing the
fixture to become portable during AC power
loss.

The fully sealed, long-life, maintenance-free
lead calcium battery is ideal for emergency
lighting applications. These recombinant cycle
batteries typically provide eight to ten years of
life and may be operated in any position.
B row n o u t C i rc u i t
The brownout circuit in Sure- Lites’ units
monitors the flow of AC current to the unit and
activates the auxiliary lighting system when a
predetermined reduction of AC power occurs.
This dip in voltage will cause most ballasted
fixtures to extinguish causing loss of normal
lighting even though a total power failure has
not occurred.

All Sure-Lites’ units are backed by a firm oneyear warranty against defect in material and
workmanship (excluding lamps). Maintenancefree, long-life, sealed lead calcium batteries
carry a five-year pro-rata warranty.
