“After completing my Bachelor's Degree and travelling overseas, I realized I needed a qualification in Business. When I
arrived in New Zealand, I was unaware of many things but AWI provided me with a good knowledge of everything along
with the course. Friendly tutors helped me gain more confidence. I am working as a Store Manager now. It seems like my

"I worked at Clara Jewellery in Christchurch, as salesperson in 2006. Due to the earthquake in February 2011 the shop was
destroyed so I decided to take a new direction and enrolled in a Business Management Course at AWI.
The course provided me with a lot of knowledge and leadership skills to manage a business. I realised that there was
so much more to running a business than I originally knew or thought and that it takes many people to run a business
including good leaders and leadership skills. AWI was able to provide the knowledge through their teaching and
resources such as the library which was available to us - you can find everything at AWI.

"Even though I already had my Bachelor’s Degree when I came to study in New Zealand, AWI played a significant role in
my understanding of a local business environment. College’s curriculum ideally made me prepared for the work after
graduation. The study here improved my knowledge of business, further developed my communication skills and in
general contributed to successful employment in the marketing area. All staff who guided me throughout my studies
were very friendly and supportive all the time. I am really lucky that I had a chance to study here!"

"I am Rachel and I studied General English at AWI which is a good school that helped improve my English. Teachers are
helpful and kind. When asked questions, they were patient, especially Joanne. She is a really good teacher. At the
beginning my grammar was bad. After I learned in her class, my grammar improved. The class atmosphere was
relaxing. We learnt a lot when we were playing English games. My classmates were also friendly. We always helped
each other. I enjoyed studying in AWI"
