ENGINE RATING CONDITIONS
Engines are rated at standard conditions of (7521 mm) 29.61 in. Hg barometer and (25˚C) 77˚F inlet air temperature, (91.4 m) 300 ft. above
sea level (see B.S. 5514 and SAE Standard J 1349).
A deduction of 3 percent from engine horsepower rating at standard conditions shall be made for diesel engines for each
(305 m) 1000 ft. altitude above (91.4 m) 300 ft.
A deduction of 1 percent from engine horsepower rating at standard conditions shall be made for diesel engines for every (5.6˚C) 10˚F
above (25˚C) 77˚F ambient temperature.
POWER AT ANY SPEED
Kilowatt / Horsepower ratings are shown at specific speeds. Clarke engines
can be applied at any intermediate speed. To determine the intermediate
power, make a linear interpolation between the adjacent specific speeds.
