APPLICATIONS
ShipLAN 59W Category 5e is an overall foil and braid-shielded horizontal data cable
designed especially to meet the proposed requirements of MIL-DTL-24643 for highspeed data transmission.
These cables are water-blocked with swellable yarn and tape to prevent water migration from one compromised compartment to another. The dual-shielding system protects signals from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference
(RFI). An extremely tough crosslinked jacket provides superb mechanical and environmental protection.
ShipLAN 59W cables are ETL-verified to be in compliance with the TIA/EIA-568-B.2
(Category 5e) and support Gigabit Ethernet, which uses all four pairs for full duplex
simultaneous bi-directional transmission.
The cables are suitable for 10, 100 and 1000 Mb/s data rates. The cables are packaged in 1000’ put-ups on wooden reels.

Specially formulated LSZH thermoplastic to US Department of Defense requirements.

3. CIRCUIT IDENTIFICATION
Standard orange/blue/green/brown color code with band marks to identify paired
conductors. Specially formulated insulation makes these colors especially vivid for
easier identification.

Swells on contact with moisture to block further egress.

8. OVERALL JACKET
Crosslinked polyolefin (non-halogen).
9. IDENTIFICATION
The cable is printed “LSC5OSW-4 SHIPLAN “59W” MARINE CABLE ETL VERIFIED
TO TIA/EIA-568-B.2” with sequential printing every 2’ to 1000’.
