FB (EN)-03.07.11 Cross Domain Solutions Solve today’s problems Redefine tomorrow Information sharing has become critical to maintaining national security. Agencies need to communicate mission-critical information between people, organizations, locations, communities of interest, and security domains, while ensuring exchange of correct and authorized data with authorized recipients. To solve this problem, agencies need to employ a cross domain solution that provides assured information sharing with the ability to securely transfer information between two or more differing communities of interest or security domains. RMS Remote Management Station: Enterprise management appliance for policy and security management, command and control, and monitoring. MDeX System Key Attributes Remote Management—Provides the enterprise the ability to maintain situational awareness of cross domain data flows via a standard Web interface for policy management, audit reduction and analysis, event management, system management, and health and status monitoring. The MDeX System interacts with enterprise service providers for the exchange of audit, health & status, and operational state information. A single remote management station can manage multiple MDeX transfer systems. Dynamic Policy Enforcement—Provides the ability for data owners to establish granular information flow and content filtering policies dynamically as mission needs change. The mission agile system can be reconfigured in minutes to hours, not days. Policy creation and modification can be done through drop-down options in an easy-to-use, intuitive GUI. Policies are represented internally using standard eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML). Trusted Core Assurance —Provides the ability for the enterprise to integrate multiple security and information domains into a converged security information exchange and transport infrastructure. The core engine initiates all connectivity to control information flow between multiple domains and prevent unauthorized connections or information exchanges. Content filtering and inspection capabilities are through an Obligation engine with an associated API. The use of edge interfaces and the Obligation engine enable protocol and content filtering changes without impacting the Trusted Core. This establishes the assurance framework for the MDeX System so that it is certified once and accredited many times throughout the enterprise. Protocol Interface Adaptability—Provides the ability for application owners to enable cross domain enable legacy and modernized information exchange systems. The MDeX system edge interface acts as a protocol break, as well as an object queue manager. The system is delivered with pre-developed clients for Java Message Services (JMS), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), and file transport. The edge interface API allows for easy integration of other applications that are specific to a customer’s environment. Template obligations (i.e., content filters) are provided with the MDeX System and can be used to quickly generate policies specific to mission and infrastructure objects (e.g., mail attachments, files, messages). The Obligation API allows customer development teams to easily develop new Java-based content filters or integrate existing content filters as native obligations. High Performance and Availability—Message transfers with low latency and throughput rates up to 10K 2KB msgs/sec to address mission and infrastructure needs for rapid delivery of time-sensitive information. Robust high-performance appliance platforms and clustering configurations ensure 99.999% up time. Lower TCO—The 1U form factor drastically reduces power, space, and cooling requirements. The reuse of existing transport protocols and obligations through APIs provides shorter turn-around time for mission and infrastructure applications to be cross domain enabled. The operator-based remote management capability reduces learning curves, eliminates the need for acquiring high expertise administrators, and centralizes cross domain management capabilities. Meeting Real-World Assured Information Sharing Needs Missions, objectives, and communities of interest are subject to constant adaptation, posing substantial challenges to mission managers as they pursue effective solutions for Warfighters. A practical cross domain solution shares this burden of adaptation by providing the flexible framework, architecture, and tool sets necessary for adaptable, compliant, and assured information sharing. SafeNet’s MDeX System was specifically designed to answer these long-established needs and provide a truly mission-agile cross domain solution. About SafeNet, Inc.
