WHY PLAY TENNIS: Tennis is a lifetime sport that has been scientifically shown to develop discipline and work ethic as well as learn teamwork
and social skills. Additionally, tennis helps improve aerobic and anaerobic fitness levels, increase speed and agility, develop strength and flexibility and refine eye-hand and overall body coordination.
FEE: Cost of the program is $60. This includes a new tennis racquet, a
tennis ball, team uniform, Junior Tennis Workbook, one (1) year USTA
junior membership, annual subscriptions to USTA Magazine, SMASH
Magazine, Midwest Tennis News, and access to play USTA Sanctioned
Tournaments plus much more.
WHAT IS USTA JR. TEAM TENNIS: USTA Jr. Team Tennis is the largest youth tennis program in the country, helping girls and boys get on the
court, and have a good time. It has been developed to give children the
opportunity to play tennis as a team sport just the way they are able to
play soccer, basketball, and baseball.

WHAT IS QUICKSTART TENNIS: The new QuickStart format includes
modified, age appropriate 36’ and 60’ courts and tennis balls. It allows for
even the youngest participants to establish control and rally during their
matches.
ABOUT THE USTA: The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the
national governing body for the sport of tennis in this country. In addition
to owning the U.S. Open and selecting members of the U.S. Davis Cup,
Fed Cup, Olympic and Paralympics teams, the USTA administers a variety
of programs nationwide for players of all ages and ability levels.
WHO CAN PLAY: The USTA Jr. Team Tennis 10 and under program is
for girls and boys ages 5-10. Whether or not your child has ever held a
racquet, there’s a spot on the team for them.
VOLUNTEER COACHES: The USTA Jr. Team Tennis program will
provide training to any parents interested in becoming a volunteer
coach. Please indicate below if you are interested in coaching.

This program is being run jointly amongst the Waukesha Tennis
Association, Waukesha Park & Rec, and USTA/Midwest Section
The mission of the USTA/Midwest Section is to “promote, develop and service the game of tennis”, focusing on the establishment of competitive, developmental,
educational and recreational programs for individuals of all ages and skill levels without regard to race, creed, color or national origin. The USTA/Midwest Section also
promotes health, character, fair play, sportsmanship and social responsibility through tennis.
