Prepare Year 12 students with basic knowledge and skills for entry level jobs and further training to commence successful career paths in the global resources and infrastructure industries. Who? Year 12 students selected through a recruitment process. Australasian Drilling Institute will deliver the accredited training as the registered training organisation approved to deliver under the government’s VET in Schools program. How? Online, project activities, practical training and Industry field trips: Students will learn with ADI’s online subjects and then do the practical training sessions. Assessments will be undertaken in the eLearning platform, practical sessions and through project activities. Students will also participate in field trips where they will have the opportunity to engage and gain valuable information from Industry experts within the resource and infrastructure sectors. School coordinators will monitor progress and liaise with ADI. When? Recruitment Process: Starting in Term 4 2015 for year 11 students. This includes presentations to students during school parade as well as a parent information evening. Enrolment Process: Term 4 2015 for year 11 students Commencement: 2016 for enrolled year 12 students. This qualification is funded under the VET in Schools framework as a qualification leading to employment outcomes. Career and training pathways in the resources and infrastructure industries depend on the job roles and which sub-sectors you are employed in. Further training may follow successful completion of this program in either a pre-industry course for one sector, such as under the Year 12 graduate programs, or combined with employment for a traineeship in either a Certificate II or III qualification or a program under the Government’s Certificate 3 Guarantee.
