Olga Paskina is appointed as CEO of National Media Group
The Board of Directors of CJSC "National Media Group" decided to appoint Olga Paskina
as CEO of Media Holding, replacing Alexander Ordzhonikidze.
Before joining CJSC "NMG" Olga Pakina lead the company "Media Alliance ", a joint venture of
the NMG and Discovery Communications, created with her participation during 2015 following
the implementation of the law on the limitation of the share of foreign shareholders in the
broadcasting channel.
Olga Paskina has joined the Discovery Networks in 2014 taking the position of senior vice
president and CEO of Discovery Networks in the North-Eastern Europe. Prior to joining
Discovery Networks Olga Paskina was president and member of the "ProfMedia" Board of
Directors, one of the largest private media holdings in Russia, where she worked over 7 years
from 2008 to 2013. In 2013 under her supervision there was a deal of accession of "Profmedia"
to the media holding "Gazprom-Media".
From 2002 to 2008 Olga Paskina worked in leading brewing company "SUN InBev", on the
position of director of Legal Affairs, and the Director of Human Resources and of Organizational
Effectiveness.
Olga Paskina graduated from the Law Faculty of the Volgograd State University and the
Economics Faculty of the Volgograd State Technical University. She also has a degree from the
Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania (USA), specializing in Executive
Management, and finished Leadership Program at the University of California at Berkeley
(USA).
Alexander Ordzhonikidze worked in the holding since 2009. During this time the holding's
strategy to expand its asset portfolio in a number of media business segments was realized. In
particular, there were acquisition of the First Channel and CTC Media, the acquisition of
"Russian News Service" and the newspaper "Metro-Petersburg", the creation of a partnership
with the "Art Pictures Vision". In 2015 the agreement on a partnership with the major players in
the market of paid-TV: Discovery groups, Viasat and Turner was reached.
