Our Baptist family, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, gathers annually
for a family reunion, business meeting, celebration of missions and
missionaries, and to learn from other folk in the family what God is
doing in their midst. This year the General Assembly will be in Atlanta,
Georgia, June 25-27. Our new leader, Suzii Paynter, will introduce
a new Coordinator for Global Missions (CGM). The CGM stewards
the work of our 150 missionaries worldwide. If you would like more
information about the Assembly or about representing our congregation
there, please contact Lynda Stafford (lynda@smbc.org) in the
pastor’s office.

Camp is the perfect environment for freedom, exploration, and
independence to cultivate a deeper understanding of the Gospel story
and forge deeper relationships with friends and church family. Throughout
the camp, children will engage in the story of the birth of the church
and learn the balance between rules and relationships in an immersion
unlike any other!

Dr. Chronopolis is in Houston again this summer and has asked the kids
to join him in his lab and hone their scientific skills. He assures us there
won’t be accidental time travel this year, but you never can know for

Mrs.
Summer can be a welcome season of Sabbath when we recharge, reconnect
with distant friends and family, and pursue the adventure of travel. Even
though this change in routine is needed and healthy, it often carries us
away from church on Sundays in June, July, and August. We want to
urge you to stay deeply connected with God and well-tethered to your
South Main church family this summer by:
Father’s Day - Sunday, June 15

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be
Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day
our daily bread, and forgive us our debts
as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not
into temptation but deliver us from evil,
for Thine is the Kingdom and the power

Symbols in Our Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is our dedicated space for worship, and this room, more
than any other on our campus, is adorned in such a way as to aid our
worship of God.
Welcoming and Covenant with New Members
In response to your decision, we pledge ourselves to be the family of God
for you in this place. We offer you our love, our care, our kinship, and
our hopes. We hope to learn from you, give to you, and receive from you
by God’s grace.
The windows that surround the sanctuary tell the story of God’s presence
in our world.
Benediction
Steve Wells
The lower panels proclaim the story of God’s presence with humanity as
shown through references to the books of the Bible. Panels on the south
side represent the Old Testament, while those on the north side represent
the New Testament.
Postlude
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty
(setting by Max Reger)
Church members are praying for each of you during this worship service:
that your hearts and minds may know the Spirit of God to be at work in
your life this hour and as you go from this place.
The upper windows on the south side portray Christ from His birth through
His active ministry. The north side upper windows begin with Passion
Week and continue through Christ’s ascension.
The Rose Window in the back of the sanctuary is the only window in
which a human face appears. The theme of this window is “Christ the
King” and it assures us of the promise in Scripture that “where two or
three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:20).
