OUR HISTORY Advanced Protection Technologies has evolved into an SPD industry leader since our inception in 1985. We’ve grown from a regional operation into a global manufacturer. Our world headquarters is located in the heart of lightning country, Clearwater, Florida. APT’s customer service and support have earned the respect of our clients and partners, and accolades from leading industry market research companies. Frost & Sullivan has honored us three years with awards for superior service and has ranked APT #1 in the three-phase SPD market. Our commitment to service and excellence comes from our people and sophisticated system integration. OUR CAPABILITY APT’s manufacturing capabilities include strong inhouse manual assembly, test, warehousing, and delivery competencies. In addition, high volume and automated assembly is accomplished by partnerships with several key ISO9000 certified state-of-the-art contract manufacturers. All production is controlled through an integrated system of custom developed ISO9001:2008 software and Best Software’s MAS200 manufacturing, inventory and accounting system. Production controls follow ISO standards and are implemented with work orders, travelers, manufacturing and process instructions, training, and a corrective and preventive action program to ensure highest quality and continuous improvement. We use information systems and technologies to keep our clients informed. We deliver quality solutions while pursuing our long term commitment, in place of short term gains. We value the client relationship and support it with integrity, responsiveness and technical excellence. We are… “Professionals Serving Professionals.” OUR QUALITY Impressive Results. A central part of our quality management revolves around the Product Development Process (PDP) and Product Change Process (PCP). This ensures that the customer, regulatory and internal requirements are integrated into the product realization process. By further integration into the management review process, we have established customer satisfaction and systematic continuous improvement. To support testing and measurement requirements of the PDP, and throughout the product realization process, APT utilizes internal and external test facilities. This ensures attainment of regulatory requirements through various programs with appropriate regulatory agencies. Our internal test facility includes state-of-the-art data acquisition and instrumentation certified with traceability to the US National Institute of Standards and Technology. The unit is a perfect replacement for the obsolete surge arrestors. With a small, compact design and line or load side installation flexibility, this unit can be installed anywhere in any electrical distribution system. SPDEE comes available in voltage specific one, two and three pole applications. This unit can also be DIN Rail mounted. The XDS Series utilizes large block 50kA Thermally Protected MOVs with surge current levels of 100kA, 150kA and 200kA per phase, providing additional redundancy options. With line or load side installation flexibility, this unit is a great fit for power entry in larger cabinet and facility applications. XDS comes available in voltage specific one, two and three pole applications. This unit also incorporates EMI/RFI Filtering. Surge XCS Series WHAT DAMAGE CAN POWER SURGES CAUSE? • PHYSICAL DAMAGE: Fire and explosions • DISRUPTION: Equipment malfunction, signal glitches and computing errors Type 1 Surge Protective Device/SPD/TVSS Type 2 Surge Protective Device/SPD/TVSS The XCS Series utilizes large block 50kA Thermally Protected MOVs with surge current levels of 100kA per phase. With a compact economical design, and line or load side installation flexibility, this unit can be installed anywhere in any electrical distribution system. XCS comes available in voltage specific one, two and three pole applications. The AC Power DIN Rail Series utilizes large block 50kA Thermally Protected MOVs with surge current levels of 50kA per mode. These devices are designed to mount onto DIN Rail. The small compact design and DIN Rail mounting capabilities make it ideal for point of use protection. The AC Power DIN Rail comes available in voltage specific one, two and three pole applications. DC POWER PROTECTION DATA LINE PROTECTION • DEGRADATION: Premature failure of equipment (electronic rust) DC HOW CAN APT PROTECT MY ITS EQUIPMENT? • APT offers SPDs for (see APT’s traffic system design guide): - Power Entry - Individual Equipment - Low Voltage Data Signals - Video AC Power Din Rail Series SPDEE DC Voltage Surge Protective Device Series Type 1 Surge Protective Device/SPD/TVSS The DC SPDEE Series utilizes large block 50kA Thermally Protected MOVs with surge current levels of 50kA per mode. This is the industry’s first and only UL 1449 and UL 1741 Listed SPD. With a small, compact design, and line or load side installation flexibility, this unit can be installed anywhere in a DC electrical distribution system. DC SPDEE eliminates the need for additional upstream fusing for SPD safety protection. This unit can also be DIN Rail mounted. Low Voltage Data Series Low Voltage Data Surge Protective Device/SPD/TVSS The Low Voltage Data Series utilizes a 3-Stage series connection to protect a wide range of low voltage applications. The devices are designed to mount onto DIN Rail. The Data Series SPDs have the ability to protect standard low frequency data up to 600 kHz as well as digital or high frequency data up to 35 MHz for protocols such as RS-232, RS-423, RS-422, RS-485 and Modbus.
