Since September 2009 the JadeWeserPort Logistics Zone I is an associated member of the DGG, the Deutsche GVZ-Gesellschaft (Freight village association). The planned Truck-Service-Center is located in the southern entrance area of the Freight Village-JadeWeserPort with a direct connection to the motorway A29. The DGG promotes the trans-regional cooperation of the German and European freight villages. Due to its membership in the early stage the JadeWeserPort is already incorporated into the network. The Truck-Services-Center stretches across an area of 10 hectare. It has to be equipped with parking lots and services for trucks as well as entertainment and catering for drivers, sailors and port staff. Starting in August 2012 the largest container ships in the world with a length of up to 430 meters and a capacity of up to 12.000 TEU fully loaded will unload their cargo on the quay. Particular characteristics of freight villages are the settlement of transport-oriented companies, logistics service providers and logistics intensive trade as well as production enterprises in commercial areas. Moreover, access to at least two modes of transport must be given in particular road and rail (intermodal terminal). The close proximity to a container terminal gives the Freight Village JadeWeserPort a unique selling proposition of exceptional quality. The Logistics Zone I is directly adjoining the container terminal. A modern freight village is in construction and will be located in this exposed location. The Freight Village JadeWeserPort has an excellent connection to the rail and road traffic and is therefore best suited for companies such as: Contract logistics (3PL) Wholesale and production companies Forwarding agencies Port services Freeze warehouses etc. The freight village comprises an area of 160 hectare and has outstanding features such as the traffic connection: Direct connection to the A29 Direct connection to the rail network of the Deutsche Bahn AG 6 tracks intermodal terminal with a 16 tracks marshalling yard Direct and easy access to the container terminal under comfortable nautical conditions Additional closed-by industrial area with 400 hectare (Logistics Zone II) available in the medium-term Intended functionalities Dangerous goods management Shopping facilities Restaurant Sanitary facilities Gas station Truck wash Central parking lots Secure parking lots Tyre center Repair service
