The successful candidate is responsible for guiding and managing the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the entire company. They lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The Director, Human Resources is a part of the Senior Management team and reports to the President. (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010) Position Functions and Tasks: Participate in the company’s strategic planning and organizational development initiatives to meet personal, professional and organizational needs. Directs a process of organizational planning that evaluates structure, job design, and personnel resources for the company. Ensure that established HR policies are responsive to a dynamic environment. Evaluate the company’s culture and provide recommendations on changes necessary to accomplish the company’s goals and objectives. Establish and implement short and long-term departmental goals, objectives and operating principles supportive of the company’s goals and objectives. Maintain, through managers, a systematic performance management system. Train and direct managers to carry out, in a timely manner, a rigorous appraisal based upon officially approved criteria applicable to all staff. Evaluate the operations of benefit programs including health, retirement, disability, wellness and recommend improvements. Develops and implements compensation strategies and structures that align with company goals. Work with the leadership and senior management team, serving as a resource to assist in reducing costs, enhancing revenues, achieving goals and objectives and analyzing and utilizing information to develop and support management decisions. Develops and implements training and development initiatives to address current capabilities and future training needs, including department special training, management development, new hire orientation and on boarding. Develops strong working relationships with other Executives, management and staff, providing advice, guidance, and coaching as needed. Required Skills: A strategic thinker with demonstrated abilities to take a longer range approach to problem solving and planning. High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information. Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Has a hands-on, pragmatic approach, show initiative and drive to achieve results. Has the ability to lead by example, attending to detail and working in a fast paced environment. Act as a role model for the company values and principles, whilst also facilitating change within the company. Must be able to contribute to a positive culture where these values and principles are actively practiced.
