The GU24 base fixture has two receiving holes instead of the threaded receiving socket
we are used to seeing on the Edison fixture. GU24 lamps are equipped with a pair of
pins to match the fixture, and installation requires a simple insertion and twist to lock
the lamp in place. These lamps are shorter, no need for the threading used in Edison
fixtures and incandescent lamps are not available with the GU24 base.
