how to create and grow a new technology

how to internationalize your technology

how to achieve a more senior corporate
leadership role?
how to build credentials and gain expertise
for your next career move?
Then the Technology Innovation Management
(TIM) graduate degree program is for you.
TIM is a unique master’s program for aspiring
entrepreneurs who are determined to start up
a successful technology company or grow an
existing one. Many TIM students follow through
on their projects and theses to launch and grow
technology businesses.
The program is offered as a Master of Applied
Science (MASc), which is thesis-based, and
as a Master of Engineering (MEng), which
is project-based. Students undertake the
majority of their coursework in an informal,
face-to-face university setting, supplemented
by occasional remote participation in classes,
group-study sessions and lectures using our
BigBlueButton web conferencing system. Most
courses take place in the evening, making the
TIM program ideal for busy people.

Capital Advantage
At Carleton, we actively practise entrepreneurship instead of just talking about it.
The TIM program is an important component
of Carleton’s entrepreneurial focus. We offer
several opportunities for advanced learning,
including internships with other TIM-based
businesses, involvement with Carleton-based
projects that build new platforms and systems
and in depth access to the flagship TIM Review
online journal and TIM Lecture Series.
We also provide our students and graduates
with access to unique resources in Canada’s
Capital Region that include Born Global,
Lead to Win, Lead to Win for Women, Ottawa
Young Entrepreneurs and incubator space.
“
As a chartered accountant,
an entrepreneur and a grad student
at Carleton, I can tell you from personal
experience that the TIM program doesn’t
just talk about innovation, it pushes the
boundaries of what innovation is and
pushes us to put theory into practice.
