Job Responsibility Description Department / Category: Kart Track Job code: Job Responsibility: Kart Track Mechanic Grade: Reports to: Kart Track Supervisor FLSA Status: Exempt Effective Date: Revision Date: Summary: Assist in the operations of the kart track under the direction of the Kart Track Supervisor primarily focusing on the preparation, repair and maintenance of the Autobahn kart fleet. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Associates assigned to the Kart Track Mechanic position are expected to: Ensure the karts are clean and ready for use any day that the kart track is scheduled to be open. Perform all repairs to the karts to assure they are presentable and mechanically ready for daily rental and all kart events. Keep accurate records of all scheduled maintenance and repairs of karts. Make sure parts orders are properly written up and carried out. Check all safety equipment and kart track related supplies including charged radio, cones, tools, flags, paperwork etc. Keep records of all kart track activity including a log of all member and guests names that use the track. Act as Race Control whenever karts present in pit lane. This includes knowing the proper meaning and use of all flags and checking member and guest wristbands. Be certain all kart track rules are being followed at all times and all drivers are wearing proper safety gear, review all rules as needed to ensure they are up to date at all times. Always be posted at or near the entrance to the kart track so anyone desiring to use the track can do so at a moments notice. If you must leave please notify management that the track is unattended. Prepare, clean and perform regular maintenance on all rental karts when no participants are on track or as needed. Keep all kart maintenance areas clean with a professional look. Keep busy, when all other duties have been performed associate should find things to do that can improve the appearance or operations of the track. Follow the proper procedures for renting an ACC kart to a client. Understand and operate the AMB timing system at all times karts are on track. Ability to accurately use the Point of Sale system for billing members and public usage Understand and be able to assist others in the use of the AMB timing system Physical Requirements: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the required functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, bend, talk, and hear. The associate must be able to lift or move up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include good peripheral vision. Adequate ability to communicate verbally is important for safety reasons.
