No. [0314] C30 Lighting Contactors Application Description Operation The mechanically held lighting contactor provides effective control in applications such as office buildings, industrial plants, hospitals, stadiums, airports, etc. ■ They are ideal for applications that require quiet operation. ■ Mechanically held operation assures that the contactor will not switch to OFF during control circuit power failure. The standard contactor, which is controlled by a separate customer supplied single-pole, double-throw control station, is both electrically operated and mechanically held with no continuous control current required. It is inherently interlocked and mechanically held in both the open and closed positions. ■ 37 Features ■ C30 Lighting Contactors Product Description ■ ■ The C30 Mechanically Held Lighting Contactors are designed to handle the switching of tungsten (incandescent filament) or ballast (fluorescent and mercury arc) lamp loads as well as other non-motor (resistive) loads. The mechanically held operation ensures that the contactor will not switch to OFF during control power failures. ■ ■ Designed and tested specifically for lighting and resistive loads Holds up to 12 poles in compact frame Quiet performance while contacts are mechanically held together Contacts will remain closed during loss of control power and allow load to operate as soon as power is restored Each power contact has a separate indicator which designates contact position A momentary pulse drives the contacts to both the open and closed positions, thus eliminating the need for dualsolenoid operators, magnetic latches, gravity drop out and field adjustments. Coil clearing contacts are completely enclosed and assure that the coil will be de-energized, even if the remote control station is held closed.
