Sixty per cent are education/training centres which are commercial RTOs; 15 per cent are community-based adult education providers. There are also a number of industry, professional and enterprise organisations. There are 77 schools delivering accredited VET courses. The TAFE Institutes and Universities with TAFE divisions constitute just 2 per cent of providers, but have a much higher proportion of enrolments. 1% 2% Education/Training Business or Centre 7% Adult Education Provider 6% Industry/Professional Association 9% Enterprise Organisation 60% TAFE Institute 15% School Other Table 2 shows that the number of RTOs has decreased by nearly 20 per cent in the last five years. This is due to voluntary cancellations, fewer providers entering the market, liquidations and because of sanctions by regulatory authorities. In 2012-13, the VRQA registered 11 new providers but there were 30 cancellations, contributing to the net overall decline in providers.
