The commitment of the Clemson Family is steadfast. It is powerful. It is empowering. Your gifts will help Clemson today, Clemson tomorrow, CLEMSON FOREVER. The Clemson University Foundation, chartered in 1933, is an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that promotes the welfare and future development of Clemson University. We seek financial support through annual gifts, capital campaigns, planned giving and other ongoing fund -raising programs. We manage the university’s endowment of over $600 million and disburse assets prudently within a policy that encourages the enhancement of the resources of the Foundation. We are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of accomplished Clemson alumni and friends who share in the pride of the University's history and who are committed to its promise in the years to come. The mission of the Clemson University Foundation is to support Clemson University by promoting growth and stewardship of resources entrusted to us which fulfill our covenants with donors. The vision of the Clemson University Foundation will be long-term, stable and significant provider of resources in supporting Clemson University's goals. In all we do, the Clemson University Foundation will conduct itself with the strictest adherence to the following core values: Independence permits flexibility in the options for short-term investment of money needed for near-term expenditures and in choosing long-term investment opportunities for endowment assets. An independent foundation can accept and sell property more expeditiously than the state. Additionally, an independent organization can more effectively maintain confidentiality of donor information when anonymity is important to benefactors. An affiliation agreement between the University and the Foundation establishes a symbiotic and supportive relationship among the entities and pledges the foundation‘s commitment to at all times further the mission of the university. The Foundation constantly searches for new products and portfolio management techniques to improve returns and/or control the risk associated with these returns. In correctly discharging its duties, the Foundation provides an attractive alternative in which donors may entrust their assets designated for the benefit of Clemson University. http://www.clemson.edu/giving/will-to-lead/ It’s about goals — meeting critical needs while we lead Clemson to the future Support for our students and faculty is crucial. These funds allowed Clemson to: The Will To Lead Campaign is Clemson University Foundation’s current campaign.
