All rights reserved. 5 ESS: How is it different than “Eco” mode Fastest Transfer Times: • ESS offers < 2ms transition times for an outage condition (vs. up to 12ms for Eco Mode). Inherent Surge Protection: • Transformer-less ESS topology offers non-degenerative filtering for lighting strikes. Load Fault Detection and Clearing: • ESS determines if the fault is at the source or load. For load faults, the UPS will maximize it’s fault clearing current by not only turning the inverter on but also leaving the source engaged with the critical load (providing the maximum fault clearing current). © 2013 Eaton Corporation. All rights reserved. 18 93PM: Unlock real power Why Unity: • Modern data centers loads are approaching unity power factor. • “Since the data center power factor is high and, as such, kW is very close to kVA, some people discount the difference and use the two interchangeably. This is very dangerous and can lead to the creation of “phantom” capacity. “ – datacenterguru.blogspot.com • The 93PM addresses this by providing 100% real power. © 2013 Eaton Corporation. All rights reserved. 19 93PM Summary Why the 93PM will win! • Highest efficiency UPS in the market! • The most flexible installation and thermal management solutions • Smallest footprint • Unity power factor is ideal for today’s loads • Lowest input current THD in the industry • Future scalability and internal redundancy (with launch of 200kW offering) “Breakthrough innovations rarely occur within a technical discipline, or within a market, but almost always where you create a novel intersection.” - Clay Christensen 0..the 93PM provides the combination of breakthrough innovations that will capture the attention of today’s markets! © 2013 Eaton Corporation.
