About the institution Institute Mission: Ø Create environment conducive for continuous learning through quality teaching and learning processes supported by modern infrastructure. Ø Promote Research and Innovation through collaboration with industries. Ø Inculcate ethical values and environmental consciousness through holistic education programs. Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering The Institution started functioning in 2001 with the monumental objective of promoting academic excellence and competence in students, especially in the fastgrowing global domain of Engineering Technology and Management. This renowned college is managed under the National Education Foundation, a trust dedicated to the cause of imparting quality education. Located in the picturesquely beautiful Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka. The college stands out for its magnificent buildings and ultra-modern infrastructure; a fascinating blend of architectural excellence and functional values. We are committed to the ideals which we preserve and believe in. GAT has been a forerunner and prime mover in imparting technical education in Bengaluru, India and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. The self financing Engineering college has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception in 2001. GAT is nested in the midst of nature which further enhances overall growth across the entire loci. GAT is a vibrant campus, which is home to diverse, aspiring and resourceful students from all over India and few SAARC countries. GAT offers many technical academic programs with emphasis on outcome based experiential and blended learning with the support of committed faculty and outstanding infrastructure facilities. Institute Vision: Become a premier institution imparting quality education in engineering and management to meet the changing needs of society. Electrical Engineering is the mother of all electrical sciences. Its sound foundation is the plinth on which new branches have emerged rapidly. This is a compelling and broad field that plays an increasingly important role in making a positive contribution to the betterment of society and the human condition. We strive to be in the forefront in educating our students in fundamentals as well as emerging technologies. Our aim is to prepare students for the continually changing, high-technology world of electrical engineering by providing solid theoretical foundation in science, mathematics, and engineering with substantial hands-on laboratory experience, and a curriculum that challenges students to act logically. Department Vision: To be a foremost education program in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering to prepare the students to face global challenges and succeed in their careers. Department Mission: v Strengthen learning environment that facilitates quality education in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering. v Enhance the Industry-Institute interaction continuously to enable faculty and students work on real time engineering problems. v Improve the quality of value added programs to enhance the technical and intellectual capabilities of students ensuring their success in competitive examinations for higher studies, employment, and research. Program Specific Outcomes ¦ Design DC machines, transformers, induction motors and alternators for given specifications. ¦ Understand generation, transmission, distribution and utilization of electric power. ¦ Design analog and digital electronic circuits and controller for operation and maintenance of electrical systems. About the Workshop The course will deal with application of various MATLAB tool boxes to electrical sciences. MATLAB tool boxes are extremely useful and one of the most widely used in the world. Since, the college has an academic license, it is necessary to introduce the students to its uses. The course would contain the following modules q Applications to computation: This includes creation of script files and function files, coding in MATLAB and graphics. q Simulink: This deals with the mathematical modeling of systems, their simulation using the powerful simulink tool. q Signal processing tool box: This includes basic signals, systems and digital signal processing. q Image processing tool box: This deals with all aspects of digital image processing. q Power electronics tool box: This deals with simulation of electronic circuits and power electronic circuits.
