Workshop 1: Blast Resistant Design of Concrete Structures
Objective:
Explosions and blast can produce, in a very short time, an
overload much greater than the design load of a building.
Structures which are not designed to resist such loads,
can suffer rapid cumulative collapse. Until, recently, the
application of blast resistant design has been limited almost
exclusively to government and critical facilities. This course
provides the practicing structural engineers with a direct
treatment of the design of cast-in-place low rise reinforced
concrete structures to resist the effects of blast loads.

Workshop 3: the deterioration of buildings and concrete
structures and methods of treatment
Objective:
Construction materials and concrete exposed for many
negative factors affecting their life in the world in general
and the Gulf countries in particular as a result of natural
conditions (moisture-heat underground water, etc) and this
requires maintenance for protection of these factors and to
find materials and appropriate methods for treatment. One
of the major financial costs of high-spent by these countries
is the maintenance and cure concrete structures. The
workshop seeks to provide a forum for engineers, specialists
and workers in the construction of concrete, materials and
exchange of knowledge on the developments and roads in
the area of ​​protection of concrete.

concrete mixers and addenda and purpose and the
types of concretes to resist the special circumstances
