The course instructors are experienced service technicians and application engineers. Courses are held at factory training facilities and a brief overview of each course is below. Training occurs over either three or four days. The cost is $1,300 per attendee. Further details on these and other classes are at: www.cooperpower.com/schools Course descriptions Tap changer school Overview: this course takes an in-depth look at Cooper Power series Tap Changers, including all three Quik-drive™ models and the legacy direct-drive and spring-drive. Lecture and handson training includes tear-down, maintenance and troubleshooting. Related voltage regulator topics are also discussed. Traditional regulator school Overview: hands-on training and lecture sessions on voltage regulator theory and application, control basics, testing, troubleshooting and apparatus repair. This course familiarizes attendees with the operation of regulators and situations they will encounter on the job. Regulator control school Overview: hands-on training and lecture sessions covering basic through advanced voltage regulator control topics. Attendees will learn control programming, operation and troubleshooting. In-depth ProView™ NXG software and communications training is also included in the agenda. Single-phase and threephase hydraulic recloser maintenance Overview: a hands-on learning approach where attendees dismantle and reassemble a single-phase and three-phase recloser. Course discussion is tailored to the attendees of the class. Basic Form 6 control & troubleshooting training Overview: a review of the control, basic interrogation, sequence of event monitoring and oscillographic event data. Advanced Form 6 recloser control training Overview: for the technician/ engineer, covers advanced ProView software and configuration, Idea Workbench™ Hardware and Communication, Oscillography and Virtual Test Set. SCADA communications school Overview: covers aspects of communications as used in distribution systems. Participants will become familiar with terminology, common transport media, and tools used in this field. Travel Information Make arrangements to fly into General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee. When scheduling a return flight on the last day of training, it is recommended that the departure time is no earlier than 7 p.m. All hotel and travel expenses are the responsibility of the attendees.
