Application for Faculty Position at the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Sophia University The Faculty of Science and Technology, Sophia University is seeking applications for a project associate professor or project assistant professor at the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences (English course) as follows: 1. Objective: This call for application to a faculty position aims to improve physics education in English for the English course offered by the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences and other courses, in view of the fact that Sophia University has been selected for the Top Global University Project by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan. 2. Name of position and number of persons to be employed: One (1) project associate professor or project assistant professor (The term of office is the status of holding a faculty appointment will be on a one-year contract basis and will/can be extended annually for a maximum period of 3 years.) 3. Field of expertise: Physics in general 4. Teaching duty: Introduction to quantum physics, Electromagnetism, Thermodynamics, Green engineering lab. 1, Engineering and applied sciences 2, Engineering and applied science lab., one of the Graduate School courses, and others 5. D or be able to obtain one by the time he/she takes up the position at the University. - The applicant must be able to teach classes in English for the English course offered by the Faculty and the Graduate School. 6. Screening method: - First screening: Screening of documents - Second screening: A second screening will be conducted at the University’s Yotsuya Campus only for those who pass the first screening. An interview is scheduled after the applicants introduce their own research as well as future research and education plans if accepted for the position in an open seminar. If the applicant is absent from this screening process, his/her application will be considered null and void. Applicants who pass the first screening will be individually informed of the details of the second screening, including the schedule. 12.
