Steve Kemp Promoted to President of
Paper Converting Machine Company, Green Bay, Wisconsin
Three Others Tapped for New Leadership Roles
GREEN BAY, Wis.— January 5, 2012 — Timothy J. Sullivan, CEO of Paper
Converting Machine Company (PCMC), a leading supplier of high-performance
converting machinery for the global tissue, nonwovens, package printing and
envelope manufacturing industries, has announced the promotion of Steve
Kemp to the position of President of the company’s Green Bay, Wisconsin
operations.
“Steve brings a very high level of passion and intensity to his leadership of our
organization as we continue to face the challenges of serving a competitive
world market,” Sullivan said. “He has mentored many other leaders and
associates and I am confident that PCMC will benefit from his sincere interest
and intent in this area. His recent focus on penetrating new market and
customer segments has positioned PCMC to maintain its status as a perennial
leader in the converting and printing industries.”
As President, Kemp will oversee all fundamental aspects of the company’s
Green Bay operations, including new equipment sales, aftermarket sales,
customer service, field service, engineering and manufacturing. Steve has more
than 30 years of industry experience and most recently served as Paper
Converting’s Vice President of Sales and Service in Green Bay.

Compton Named Executive Vice President
In addition, Craig Compton has been promoted to Paper Converting Machine Company’s Executive Vice President of
Technology and Improvement. Compton brings more than 24 years of experience to the role. He assumes responsibility for
new product development as well as the company’s LEAN continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, he continues to
oversee machining, manufacturing engineering and purchasing, and several related support areas at one of the company’s
Green Bay facilities.
“Craig has been instrumental in helping to stabilize us operationally while organizing several vital value streams and launching
new technology platforms such as Forte, Fusion, Marlin and Mako.” Sullivan commented. “His tremendous technical
knowledge and passion and drive for change and improvement are assets which will serve him well in his new role.”
PCMC Names Two Vice Presidents
Bart Hardy accepted the promotion to Vice President, Major Machinery. In the new role, Hardy will create and guide new
equipment value streams for the company’s new equipment product lines.

“Bart brings an incredible arsenal of tools to his new area of responsibility -- 22 years of experience in engineering and field
service, his vast technical knowledge, and, most importantly, his deep commitment to servant leadership,” said Sullivan.
Kent Ropella has been promoted to the role of Vice President, Parts & Modifications. In this position, Ropella will add
manufacturing and operations components of key value streams to his responsibilities as well as continue to oversee customer
service and modification sales.
“Kent’s immense professional experience and 13 years of leadership within our organization will allow him to align and unify
critical areas of our business,” commented Sullivan. “This is extremely important because these are areas which provide us
with multiple daily touch points with our customers.”
