PROJECT DESIGN & IMPLEMENTATION
EXPERIENCE
1. Supervised some projects in the industry, which include Process Control and
Instrumentation, especially to train process control and instrumentation engineers.
(Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industry, ENPPI).
2. Built the Process Control Laboratory for the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams
University which consists of a pilot plant (distillation column) and all the supporting
equipment (measuring devices, control panel, supplies, etc.).
3. Supervised the design and implementation of Microprocessor-based Temperature
Controller for HAK Instrumentation Factory. The controller was used in many steel
factories and proved to be robust.
4. Supervised the design, implementation and erection of Computer Control Systems for
many plants for National Steel and Iron Company, Helwan, Cairo.

5. Design and implementation of Information System for Instruments and Control
Equipment, National Steel and Iron Company, Helwan, Cairo (Joint project between the
Information System Center and General Organization for Industry).
6. Design and implementation of the following Computer Packages for the Information
System Center of Ain Shams University: - System Modeling and Identification, Stochastic
Network Simulation, Linear and Nonlinear Optimization Techniques.
7. Design and implementation of Dynamic Systems Simulation Package (DSSP). This
package can simulate any industrial process with the real environment. The package
was tested during the design of many control systems (analog and digital) and proved to
be reliable and easy to use.
8. Supervised the design and development of a complete Information System of Preventive
Maintenance and Material Control for cement production line. (The project is designed by
Italian Company ISIS, ABB for National Cement Company).
9. Design and Implementation of a PC Based SCADA System which can scan 100 data
points. A common PC computer can be used. A complete software package is
developed which can identify all the data points, manipulates the data as required, and
generates any desired report. (Applied in National Iron and Steel Company, Helwan,
Cairo).
10. Design and implementation of Computer Control of BOF using Dynamic Model. In this
research project, a dynamic model for the BOF is designed and tested. The National Iron
and Steel Company uses Mini Computer for on-line control of the BOF with the designed
scheme. (One of the main research team of the project, FRCU grants No. 89022).
11. Design and application of Computer-Based Technology for the Development of Food
Industry. In this project, design and implementation of process control to three main
production lines at Edfina Company for preserved food. (One of the main researches
teems of the project, STC, ASRT and USAID Contract No.4).
12. Design and implementation of an Industrial Expert System. The main goal of this project
is to transfer the expert system technology of industrial and business sectors in EGYPT.
The Sintering plant of National Iron and Steel Company was selected. An Expert system,
to help the production engineers to solve the production problems, is designed. This
expert system is implemented and tested. (One of the main researches teems of then
project which is supported by United Nation Development Program, Project No.
EGY/87/004).
13. Design and Manufacturing of Prototypes for Universal Microprocessor-based Industrial
Controller. In this project, a universal microprocessor-based industrial controller is
designed. Prototypes of the proposed controller are manufactured. The reliability and
applicability for industrial use of the proposed controller was justified by series of
laboratory and field tests. (Principal Investigator of the project, the project is supported
by Science and Technology Corporation).
14. Design and implementation of an Intelligent Weighing System using a Load Cell
Digitizer. The load cell Digitizer is connected to a PC system and complete software is
developed. The system designed contains complete information systems about the
trucks, customer and material. Detailed reports can be generated. (Designed for Arab
Consultant Engineers, Osman A. Azam and Co.).
15. Designed and supervised the training program for Process Control, Instrumentation,
Microprocessor, Computer Control, Computer in Industry, and related topics. This
training program is offered by Arab Consulting Engineers, Osman A. Azam and Co.; and
also prepares all the needed material for lectures and laboratories.
16. Organized the Cairo Third IASTED International Conference and Exhibition, “Computer
Applications in Industry”, held at Cairo Marriott Hotel, December 26-29, 1994.
17. Designed and supervised the training programs for computer languages, database
programming and related topics. The program is offered by Compu-Tronic; and also
prepares all the needed material for lectures and laboratories.

18. Analyzed, Designed and implemented a complete computerized system for the Payroll
Department at Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. It is working successfully
since December 1995.
19. Analyzed, Designed and implemented a complete computerized system for the
Undergraduate Student Results Calculation, Faculty of Engineering at Ain Shams
University. It is implemented on the results of the Preparatory Year for the academic year
1995/1996. By the end of the year 1997, full implementation to obtain the student
examination result started and it becomes the standard system.
20. Supervised the upgrading of the Curriculum Plan for Undergraduate program of the
Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. A complete computerized system was
implemented to assure the error free program. This Curriculum was approved in June
1996.
21. Supervised the upgrading of the Curriculum Plan for Graduate Studies program of the
Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University. A complete computerized system is
implemented to assure the error free program. The program was approved in February
1998.
22. Editing the first Arabic Yearbook about the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University,
which published on June 1998?
23. Supervising the analysis, design and implementation of the first national standardized
computer information system to automate the National Book Library, 1998.
24. Analyzed, Designed and implemented a complete computerized system for the Graduate
Student Grade Calculation. It is implemented on the results of the fall term 1998/1999.
25. Editing the first English Yearbook about the Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams
University, Undergraduate and Graduate Curriculum Plans, all are published in
September 1999.
26. Editing the Yearly Book about the Ph.D. and M.Sc. Theses. The first volume contains the
Arabic/English Abstract of all the published theses (September 1995 –August 1998).
Second and third volumes contain the abstracts of the theses published from September
1998 – August 1999 and September 1999 – August 2000, … 2003-2004 respectively.
27. Analyzed, Designed and implemented a complete computerized system for the Student
Affaires and Result Calculation for the Institute of Engineering and Printing (Akhbar-ElYom Organization. Real implementation started May 2000

Affaires and Result Calculation for the Faculty of Engineering (at Shobra), Banha
Branch, Zagazig University. Real implementation started May 2000.
29. Analyzed, Designed and implemented a complete computerized system for the Graduate
Student Affaires, for Ain Shams University (All Faculties). Started to work June 2001.
30. Supervised the upgrading of the Curriculum Plan for Undergraduate program of the
Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University, for the second time in five years. New
section for Mechatronics was added to the program. A complete computerized system
was implemented to assure the error free program. This Curriculum was approved in
