Welcome to the European Capital
of Culture 2013
INFORMATION FOR ERASMUS AND OTHER FOREIGN STUDENTS
Dear students, dear international colleagues,
The Faculty of Economics was established on the 8th July 1992 in response to market demand, within the
framework of transformation of the Technical University to a "full-fledged" university covering also non-technical
disciplines. Faculty is one of the youngest and most progressive faculties of the Technical University of Kosice.
The Faculty of Economics is putting great emphasis on international cooperation in the area of research and
education, fostering links with institutions in private and public sectors and thus responding to their needs and to the
needs of society in general. The effort put into research and internationalisation is reflected also in the evaluation of
the Faculty by external agencies. Our efforts have been already recognized by the Academic Ranking and Rating
Agency (ARRA, www.arra.sk) several times. The Faculty of Economics at the Technical University of Kosice was ranked
as the best faculty in Slovakia in the category of economics in 2005, 2008, 2009, 2011.
We strive to be a sought-after faculty providing education in the spirit of democracy and humanism, leading students
to tolerance and the capacity of critical and creative thinking. We are happy that our students are successful in the
labour market and have opportunities to work with well recognized international and domestic companies.
We are looking forward to meeting you at our Faculty.
Prof. RNDr. Vincent Šoltés, CSc.
Dean
