Opened in May of 2012, this Centre of Excellence is entirely dedicated to safe,
energy efficient lighting technologies. Located in Milan, the facility acts as a
hub for all of Europe and covers an area of 3,000 square meters. The lab offers
high-tech capabilities, content and over thirty engineers highly trained and
skilled in lighting technologies including 360° SSL (Solid State Lighting).
The space offers local services and technical support for
Italian and European manufacturers to better compete
in the global market without sacrificing safety, quality
or performance. The Centre of Excellence provides
solutions for the entire lighting industry supply
chain; from distributors of electrical materials,
to manufacturers, architects, designers and even
software companies.
Expert staff, precise measurements and outstanding

in quicker time to market, reduced internal costs and
increased consumer confidence.

to the global market in accordance with current U.S. and International regulations.

with the issuance of National Certification through our
Global Market Access team.
Accreditation is essential to access energy saving
certification programs on lighting products, including
Energy Star, DLC and Lighting facts.
ENEC
• UL is also accredited 17025 by IAS, a member of
international certification scheme ILAC, for the
European Standard for photometry and national
standard UNI 11356
ENEC to issue ENEC 15 mark on the same lighting
categories that are CBTL accredited. ENEC means
safety in Europe, and all signatories of the ENEC
Mark Scheme actively support its commitment to
the highest safety levels.
• Thanks to our comprehensive test equipment
and turnaround time of five days, UL can assist
manufacturers in getting their product rapidly tested
IECEE CBTL
IECEE CBTL for most of the IEC standards for Luminaires
and components for lighting products. CB certification
is the key for market access to the national certification.
More than one hundred countries in the world adhered to
the CB scheme.
• By acquiring the right to use the ENEC mark you avoid
the multiple testing and certification of devices, thus
saving time and money
• The mark also enables you to export your products with
ease to at least 25 European countries
UL can assist clients to get CB and ENEC certification with
a turnaround time of 4 weeks.
• Through the CB Test Report and CB Certificate issued
