Each one can be easily identified by its alphabetical suffix. All the modules in this series have a similar appearance, they have a green fiberglass front surface on which are mounted the electronic components. Clear white silk-screen printing indicates the component positions, and functional blocks. The rear of each module has a strong protective cover. The outline of each of the experiment modules and relevant study topics is presented in the following pages. A concise list of the modules is presented below. The trainer includes a PC interface module (factory code B3510-Z), which can be interfaced with all the modules in the series to enable complex remote control and monitoring of simulated systems. For this scope a high-feature software package is available, the B3510-SW – Transducer Lab Support and Simulation Software – described in this section A unique power supply has been created for this series of boards, B3510-BU (factorycode B4191)). This allows an extensive and complete study of these devices and the circuits required for the conditioning of the signals produced by them. Open and closed loop temperature control conditions can easily be demonstrated and investigated. Industrial applications may also be simulated by interfacing this module with others in the B35 series, for example the B3510-Z PC interface board. The module has two small DC motors ganged together. One is used as the drive motor and the other as a tachometric generator. A slot-type optical feedback sensor is also mechanically ganged to a DC motor. The small motors ensure safe operation in all circumstances, this is important when the student has little experience.
