2016 International Summer School
National Cheng Kung University is located in Tainan City, known
for its magnificent historic buildings, delicious food, and classic ethos!
You can explore the wonders of Taiwan’s old capital where Taiwan’s
modern history began. Scheduled from July 28 to Aug. 13, 2016
International Summer School at NCKU features "Sustainable
Development and Management for Lowland Environmental
Resilience." The main theme of the course this year is innovative
adaptations which involves the issues of resilient city planning, city
history and social development, flood management, ecosystem
services, public health, and stakeholder involvement. Emphasis
includes interactive discussions and students’ hands on experiences.
Field trips such as Tainan city tour, Ren-De detention pond, Taijiang
National Park, and Hayashi Department Store will be organized for a
holistic insight of the course and Tainan. Our summer program also
includes Chinese language and cultural classes which will immerse
students in a unique cultural atmosphere. Through these academic
and cultural activities, we believe students will broaden their horizons
in Tainan, Taiwan!
