All bottom stringers, longitudinals and engine beds are constructed to the same standards as used in the original production Fairey Spearfish. Hull to deck laminated together to provide strength and ensure watertight joint, three sets of spray rails to ensure dry ride. The large cockpit area is finished in laid teak. Hinges and catches to engine hatch and lazarette are stainless steel, flush fitting with discreet fastenings. Plenty of locker space beneath cockpit seating. Comments ASTERIX is hull number 7 she was built for one of the directors of Swordsman Marine and has been fitted out to a high specification level. A list of owners sounds like a who's who of one of the most exciting and innovative decades of British design – Sir Max and Lady Violet Aitken, Tommy Sopwith, actress Deborah Kerr, bandleader Billy Cotton and many others all owned at least one.
