WHAT TO EXPECT FROM MY STAY AND WHAT THE SERVICE EXPECTS FROM ME We provide early help to young people, aged 11-17 years old, in families at risk of breaking down. By working with the family and the young person we are able to offer a short stay in a safe environment that gives the young person time away from family life. If you or someone you know is coming to stay at Alloe Field View a member of the team will have a chat about what to expect from a short stay here and what will be expected from you. Some key things are: ■ We want to know about you! We want to know about your religion, what food you like, what hobbies you have, what’s your favourite sport, are you in a club back home and is there one near to us? ■ we will work together with you and your family to try and improve on agreed goals ■ you will have opportunity to go on activities ■ We do write down lots of things about your stay. If you would like to read what we have written please ask a member of staff. So that we provide a safe and happy environment for everyone we need to remember to respect staff and other young people’s views, opinions and beliefs and most importantly HAVE FUN! WHAT TO BRING We have created this checklist to help when you are thinking about what things that you need or may want to bring with you: CLOTHES ■ You will need to bring your own clothes to wear. There will be a number of activities running whilst you stay so you may want to bring some clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. There are laundry facilities at Alloe Field View. FOOD ■ Meals are provided as part of your stay and you will be able to plan menus with staff. PERSONAL ITEMS ■ You will have your own bedroom when you stay so you can bring some personal items with you such as your mobile phone and electronic chargers. If you’re not sure, ask a member of the team. MEDICATION ■ When you come you need to ensure your parents bring any medication that you take. Having all the correct labels with all the correct information will help us make sure you get the right medications for you. INTERNET ACCESS ■ There is internet access at Alloe Field View.
