NGT App brief guide Bit of background: When using the NGT App you have two connections between you and the NGT Service. There’s a phone call and a connection over the internet from the app. This is the same whether you’re making a call or someone’s calling you. The NGT Service uses your phone number to associate the phone call with the NGT App connection. To do this you have to tell the App the phone number, or phone numbers, you’ll be using with the App. After installing the NGT App the first thing you have to do is tell the App the phone number you’ll be using. Instructions: These instructions are for NGT App trialists, when the NGT Service is launched the way you make calls with change. Very Important: At the moment you can’t use the NGT App to make emergency calls. Setting up: 1. Install NGT App 2. Open the NGT App 3. The first time you open the App it’ll open the Numbers screen, to add more numbers you’ll need to click and then the Numbers tab. 4. Click Add Phone Number 5. Enter your full phone number and click Link 6. Instructions on the screen will tell you to use the phone to dial 0800 500 888 7. You’ll then get a message saying the number’s linked Making a call: 1. Open the NGT App 2. Check you have at the top of the window. If it’s there could be a problem with your connection to the internet. 3. Use your phone to dial 0808 100 0112 (This is only for the trial). 4. The NGT App will pop-up a window displaying the call, click Join Call. 5. You then need to type into the NGT App the phone number you’re calling (This is only for the trial). 6. The NGT App will show messages such as “NGT ring ring” or “NGT busy”. 7. When the call is answered NGT Service will connect relay if the other person is using a phone, if they are using a textphone or the NGT App you’ll be able to type/talk to them direct. If all is okay you’ll get the helpdesk menu. Answering a call: 1. When the phone rings, lights flash, etc. open the NGT App 2.
