DR.TOM HAWKINS Director thawkins@asd.edu.qa GENERAL INFORMATION The American School of Doha, founded in 1988, is an independent, US accredited, college preparatory school with state of the art facilities. ASD offers classes for children from PreK through twelfth grade designed to meet the needs of both the expatriate and local communities. The American School of Doha offers the International Bacculaureate program, Advanced Placement courses and college preparatory courses. All graduates of ASD earn a standard US High school diploma. There are 214 faculty members presently at ASD, 60% of which hold advanced degrees. The faculty is 78% North American but in total represents 23 countries. The total school enrollment as of the beginning of September 2015 was 2210 students; 690 of these are in the high school with 145 in the senior class. Students come from over 70 different countries with approximately 40% coming from the United States and 11% made up of Qatari nationals. The American School of Doha is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and is a member of the International Association for College Admission Counseling.
