The Interlock 7000 consists of two
components: a handset and control
unit. In the handset the breath sample is
analysed. The control unit releases or
blocks the starter relay of the vehicle.
Once the vehicle’s ignition is switched
on, the Dräger Interlock® 7000 requests
a breath sample from the driver. If the
device detects an alcohol value above the
set limit, it prevents the engine from being
started. The device helps to systematically
eliminate alcohol-related risks of accidents
and to stop drink driving.
FUNCTIONALITY
The design of the Dräger Interlock® 7000
is appealing and ergonomic, with the
mouthpiece on the back of the handset –
hence, not easily recognised as an alcohol ignition interlock device. The newly
designed hygienic mouthpieces are completely biodegradable. The navigation on
the colour display makes the use of this
device easy and intuitive. Additionally,
coloured LEDs on the device enhance
the ease of use for the user.

The Dräger Interlock® 7000 is an alcohol ignition interlock
device which prevents a person under the influence of alcohol
from starting the vehicle. The Dräger Interlock® 7000 has a
quick start-up time. Additionally, the device can be equipped
with a camera and/or a GPRS module, according
to the specific customer requirements.

Interlock® 7000 handset
The data log of the Dräger Interlock® 7000
saves all relevant events such as date,
time, submission or refusal to submit
a breath sample, measured alcohol concentration, engine starts and stops and any
attempts to tamper with the device. The
data is transferred from the control unit
to the PC via an infrared interface or via
Bluetooth. Downloaded data is available
to authorised persons only. From creation of the image, to provision of the data,
special encryption methods guarantee
data protection.

The extremely quick start-up time is
one of the many new features of the
Dräger Interlock® 7000. At temperatures
above 0 °C, the Dräger Interlock® 7000
is ready for immediate use. With an
approved temperature range of - 45 °C
to 85 °C, it ensures that the device
works reliably under all kinds of ambient
conditions.

RELIABLE MEASUREMENT TECHNOLOGY
If the Dräger Interlock® 7000 is equipped
with an additional GPRS module, it is
possible for certain predefined events to
transmit data automatically to the responsible entity or person via the GPRS module.
This event can, for example, be an attempt
to start the engine under the influence of
alcohol.
The camera is fully integrated into the
Dräger Interlock® 7000 and records the
submitted breath samples with images.
If necessary, it can be easily installed in
each vehicle. The infrared technology
ensures good image quality, regardless of
whether it is day or night.
The Dräger Interlock® 7000 specifically
measures alcohol. The measuring result
is reliable and precise. Any attempts
to bypass or manipulate the device are
automatically identified and stored in the
data log. The device is able to identify
whether the alcohol detected in the breath
sample is actual breath alcohol or only
mouth alcohol.

Dräger Interlock® 7000 uses the proven
sensor technology of the Alcotest®. Alcohol
