Appointments
Dr. Kevin C. Bower has been promoted to Department Head for the Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering
Dr. Mary Katherine Watson joined The Citadel as an Assistant Professor in the Department of
Civil and Environmental Engineering effective July 2013
Dr. Gregory J. Mazzaro joined The Citadel as an Assistant Professor in the Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering effective July 2013
Dr. Gerald Graves joined The Citadel as an Associate Professor in the
Department of Engineering Leadership and Program Management
effective January 2013
Dr. Harold Askins, Professor Emeritus rejoined the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering faculty as an adjunct professor for the summer and fall terms of 2012.
Dr. Harry Weatherford of Nucor Steel joined the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering faculty as an adjunct professor for the fall term of 2012.
Dr. Robert Barsanti was promoted to the academic rank of full
professor and to the military rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the SC
Militia on August 16, 2012.
Dr. Ronald Hayne received tenure and was promoted to the academic
rank of associate professor on August 16, 2012.
Dr. Jason Skinner received tenure and was promoted to the academic
rank of associate professor on August 16, 2012.
Retirements
Darrell Crawford: Retired after thirteen years of service as Laboratory Technician for the
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering effective August 2013.
Verdell Rouse: Retired after 30 years of service as a departmental assistant to Civil and
Environmental Engineering and an assistant to the Dean of the School of Engineering effective
July 2013.
Resignations
Dr. Thomas Jerse resigned from The Citadel effective July 20, 2012 to pursue other
employment.
Dr. Joe Coe resigned from The Citadel effective July 20, 2012 to pursue other employment.
