As we are all settling into our course schedule routine and looking to put student names and faces together (if any of you have successful strategies for learning student names, please consider sharing) I would like you to keep the following in mind: If, for some reason, you will not be able to meet with any of your classes at the scheduled time - please call the office and let us know. We are approaching two of the worst weather months of the year. If you have not already done so, inform your students regarding procedures you intend to follow in case of inclement weather. Consider posting lecture notes and/or power point slides and conducting class discussions via Blackboard. If you are not yet sufficiently Blackboard literate to be able to pull this off, I’d be happy to show you how. top Items of Interest Panzer Update: 4/26/2012 2:47 PM Exercise Science and Physical Ed 2 of 6 http://frontpage.montclair.edu/sullivantim/html/dept/nlfeb.htm I met with Holly Gera the first week in January and was able to tour the renovation work underway. Holly indicated the renovations should be completed by this summer – ready for instructional and athletic program use by September. She was cautiously optimistic about this timetable. Holly also indicated that she would arrange an opportunity to tour Panzer for any interested faculty. Please let me know if you are interested and I will arrange. The Athletic Training Education Program in conjunction with the Yogi Bera Museum is conducting the Second Annual Yogi Bera Museum and Learning Center Sports Medicine Workshop scheduled for Wednesday January 28, 2009. Our Department Strategic Plan is due to the Dean on March 13th. In that plan, we have been charged with formulating program and department goals and objectives that are consistent with the University goals below. While we will be able to use goals already identified in our recent Department Self Study, we will need to re-work them a bit to show how they fit with the University Goals. A first step will be to re-visit our Department Mission Statement and create and Department Vision Statement. For those of you wondering what a Vision Statement is and how it differs from a Mission Statement – I would be very happy to share that information with you if I knew. As soon as I have some clarification regarding these terms, I’ll let you know.
