PRE-QUALIFICATION
REQUIREMENTS
FOR
MEDIUM VOLTAGE, LOW VOLTAGE & STREET LIGHTING CABLES
1.
Fully dimensional drawings to scale and in A4 sized sheets, giving constructional
details and material specifications of all parts including the thicknesses of insulation,
sheath, etc. for the following types of Cables.

Complete type test reports and certificates for Cable types a.1, a.3, b.1, b.2, b.3,
c.1 & c.3 as detailed against Item-1 or of similar rating, design and construction
from an Internationally Recognized Independent Test Laboratory (AST A, KEMA
or CESI). The test reports and certificates older than five (5) years are not
accepted.

Samples of cables (25 cms. long), all fixed on separate sample boards for each type of
cable.

Guarantee for all types of cables against design and manufacturing

Manufacturer's profile including copy of the audited balance sheet including summary of
actual assets and liabilities for a minimum three (3) financial years attested by the
concerned authorities in the manufacturer's own country and in Kuwait.
7.
Confidential statements from Bankers about the position of the Firm.

Manufacturer's
personnel.
9.
Copy of certificate of registration with the Ministry of Commerce
name against the manufacturer of the product.
10.
Copies of ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard Certificate, ISO 14001 Environment
Management Standard Certificate and the BS 8800 Occupational Health and Safety
Standard Certificate, after authentication by the competent authorities.
11.
Country of origin of the products.
12.
International standards followed.
13.
List and description of the Company's engineering plants stating the location, installed
facilities, manufacturing capacity of each and history of the company.
14.
Details and sources of all raw materials and test certificates.
15.
Details of manufacturing process and quality control procedure followed.
16.
Design calculations as and where applicable.
17.
Production capacity.
18.
List and description of similar cables supplied by the Manufacturer within the last 5
years indicating clearly their types, quantities, value, location and the Owner's name
and address.
19.
Certificates from Clients/Engineering Consultants of at least three Purchase Orders of
cables where the manufacturer has had similar types in reliable operation for a
minimum of three (3) years, certifying that their present status is satisfactory.
20.
List of current works giving types,
purchaser's name and address.
21.
Once the above submissions/requirements
are completed, studied & accepted,
the Manufacturer has to provide this Ministry at their own cost with 100 metres of
cables from types a.1, a.3, b.1, b.2, b.3, c.1 & c.3 as listed above for trying out in
the network for a period of six (6) months to one (1) year.
