CUHK-Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Summer Programme The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) offer a joint summer programme with the aim of enabling students from all corners of the world to understand traditional and modern China by studying in two regions in one summer. A variety of topics will be explored during the Programme, including Chinese government and politics, Chinese Law and society, architectural heritage in China, and Chinese landscape and gardening. A free Chinese language course at elementary and intermediate levels is offered to all students in the SJTU programme. PROGRAMME SCHEDULE for 2016 Students will take one 3-credit course through a three-week period of study at the CUHK International Summer School (ISS) in June and take one 2-credit course and one 1-credit Chinese language course through a three-week period of study at the SJTU International Summer Session (ISS) in July. The dates are as follows: 3 weeks at CUHK (4-24 June) + 3 weeks at SJTU (4-24 July) FIELD TRIPS The CUHK Programme includes an orientation session, social activities, visits to different parts of Hong Kong, and opening and graduation banquets; the SJTU Programme offers visits to ancient temple, Suzhou Garden and Zhujiajiao Town and a workshop on pottery making. Students can apply for an appropriate visa via their local Chinese embassy or consulate by providing the JW202 Form and Admission Notification, which will be offered by Shanghai Jiao Tong University after admission.
