Key Areas of Expertise Emergency Management Disaster Response, Recovery and Mitigation Critical Incident Planning Relevant Experience Retired Director of Disaster Services for the Cincinnati Area Chapter of the American Red Cross Certified Emergency Manager Former Senior Director for Major Disaster Operations for the American Red Cross Gary Miller is the retired Director of Disaster Services for the 25 County Cincinnati Area Chapter/Region of the American Red Cross. He is presently a Business Continuity and Emergency Planning Consultant and serves as Government Operations Advisor to Red Cross National Headquarters. As a Senior Consultant for ARMADA, Mr. Miller assists with exercise design, development, conduct and evaluation. He facilitated the Ohio Department of Mental Health tabletop exercise which tested their Pandemic Flu plans. Mr. Miller also participates extensively in business development for ARMADA. Mr. Miller served the American National Red Cross as the Senior Director for Major Disaster Operations and is an administrative director of the Critical Response Team which responds to terrorism incidents and aircraft accidents anywhere in the United States. He is also a member of the team that represents the Red Cross at the Homeland Security Emergency Operations Center in Washington. Mr. Miller has served as the senior Red Cross official on over 33 major disaster operations including Job Director of the American Red Cross September 11th World Trade Center terrorist attack relief operation in New York; Director of the Multi Hurricane relief operation in the State of Florida; and Deputy Director of Hurricane Katrina relief for Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Mr. Miller has served as Chairman of the Hamilton County, Ohio, Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), as a member of numerous other county LEPC's, as Secretary of the Tri‐State Emergency Association; and as President of the Hamilton County Disaster Council. He is also a member of the State of Ohio EMS Disaster Committee; Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport Disaster Committee; the Tri‐State Trauma Coalition, the Greater Cincinnati Hospital Council Disaster Committee; the City of Cincinnati Safety Director's Disaster Committee; the Greater Cincinnati Regional Hazardous Material Response Unit; the Red Cross NHQ Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Task Force; and curriculum committee for the Clara Barton Center for Domestic Preparedness in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Mr. Miller is also a member of the American Society for Public Administration, the National Fire Protection Association, the International Society of Fire Safety Instructors, the International Association of Emergency Management, the National Emergency Management Association, the National Association of Contingency Planners, and is a former member of the State of Ohio Governor's Disaster Advisory Committee, Regional Health Planning Board, Regional 911 Committee and the Paramedic Development Committee for the City of Cincinnati.
