The safety CPU can be installed directly on the MELSEC iQ-R Series base rack and can execute both safety and non-safety programs, enabling easy integration into existing or new control systems. The safety CPU can be programmed using GX Works3 enabling machine makers to realize lower cost safety solutions as only one programming software is required for the MELSEC iQ-R Series, while utilizing its intuitive user interface and maintenance features. The physical layer and data communications is based on Ethernet technology and enables commercial cables, adapters, and hubs to be used*1.
