1 Introduction
MTR 3 is a convert interface between GTR-Series
generator controller and PC for communication purpose. It
transforms RS-485 interface into USB. MTR-3 help the
GTR-Series controller achieve remote parameter setting and
data monitoring follow under the command of computer
equipment such as Desktop, Notebook, PDA, etc.. Relative

RS 485 Rx Indicator
When it lights on, it means waiting for receiving
the data on the RS-485 port.
RS 485 Tx Indicator
When it lights on, it means conveying the data to the RS-485 port.
USB Rx Indicator
When it lights on, it means waiting for receiving the data on the USB port.
USB Tx Indicator
When it lights on, it means conveying the data to the USB port.
Power Indicator
Power on
Reset Push button
Reset the MTR-3 sequence.
RJ-45 Connector
RJ-45 Connector
1st Pin: non-use.
2nd Pin: RS-485 transmission pin (D+)
3rd Pin: RS-485 transmission pin (D-).
4th Pin: non-use.
USB Connector
1st Pin
It’s a USB 2.0 interface. The MTR-3’s power is provided by the USB 2.0 interface.

3 Operation
Uni-controller Connection
Explanation
¾ Plug USB terminal into the USB connector on the MTR-3.
¾ Plug USB terminal on the other side into USB port on PC
¾ Plug one side of the telephone terminal into RJ-45 socket on the MTR-3. And plug the
telephone terminal of the other side into the RJ45 Box.
¾ Plug on the RS485 cable into the RS-485 socket on the GTR controller’s rear, then the Power
and USB Rx indicator will lights on, shows the wiring connection between Controller and the
MTR-3 is done.

Multiprocessor linking
¾Every single controller needs to configure different address to provide the software recognition.
¾On each controller, parallel the 2nd pin and 3rd pin of RS-485 interface then connect it to MTR-3
¾While software running, key in the address code that you desired to connect.
