This mounting system offers the advantage of locating the aiming laser away from the heat generated by the barrel of the weapon. It also offers a secure mounting location. In addition, the integrated NATO/1913 rails on each side of the front site provides a convenient mounting location for a tactical light or other accessory. General Information Failure to comply with the installation instructions may result in damage to your weapon. 21114 14156 3 Designed and Manufactured by: LASER DEVICES, INC. 2 Harris Court, Suite A-4 Monterey, CA 93940 USA Tel.: (831) 373-0701 Fax: (831) 373-0903 LASER LIGHT AVOID DIRECT LASER LIGHT AVOID DIRECT OUTPUT <5mW WAVELENGTH 835nM CLASS IIIb LASER PRODUCT OUTPUT 5mW WAVELENGTH 632 - 650nM CLASS IIIa LASER PRODUCT EXPOSURE EYE EXPOSURE E-mail: Sales@laserdevices.com Internet: www.laserdevices.com Infrared Laser Warranty Laser Devices, Inc. In order to avoid the possibility of eye injuries resulting from direct viewing, please adhere to the following warnings: - * Avoid looking directly into the laser beam. * Do not look directly at the laser light using scopes or binoculars. * Avoid shining the laser onto mirrored surfaces. * Do not direct the laser into the eyes or face of persons or animals. * Observe all safety precautions with the laser that you would observe with a loaded firearm. 30102 30143 Target "Accur-Aim LaserTM" with 3 Strips Target Strips (35 Pieces) 30204 30203 Daytime Shooting Glasses, High Efficiency Daytime Shooting Glasses, Standard Efficiency 30114 3 Volt Lithium Battery for Illuminator in Foregrip (123A) 30108 6 Volt Lithium Battery for MP5 Laser (PX28L) 2 19 LDI manufactures a full line of tactical accessories that work with the AR-2A laser, including mounting brackets, tactical lights, filters and laser accessories. Infrared (IR) aiming lasers are only available to law enforcement and military end users. The IR laser is not visible to the unaided human eye. This means that the reflex that protects your eye from bright visible light will not protect your eyes from the IR beam. You should exercise the same caution when using or training with the IR aiming laser that you would use with a loaded firearm. The non-ocular hazard distance for this device is 5 meters for opponents not equipped with optical scopes. The non-ocular hazard distance for opponents using optical scopes, binoculars or telescopes who might inadvertently view the laser light has not been determined and depends on the magnification power of the optic. Fails to operate. A. Replace the battery (see instructions). B. Check the battery installation to make sure the battery was installed with the positive (+) terminal facing out of the laser assembly as shown in Figure 1.. 2. Laser light is weak or dim. A. Check the front cap and lens of the laser to make sure that it is not covered with dirt or powder residue. If the front cap is dirty, clean gently with a cotton swab or soft clean cloth taking care not to scratch the lens. 3. If the aiming laser still fails to operate, please contact LDI for assistance. 15 AR-2A Installation Adjusting Windage/Elevation (cont'd) Step 1. Make sure your weapon is unloaded. Step 2. Do not remove the laser from the mounting bracket. (Initial installation). Step 3. Place the left side mount with the laser dovetail in the A-Frame front site. See Figure 1. Step 4. Install the right side of the mount and align the screw holes. See Figure 2. Step 5 Install the hex screws and firmly tighten. Tighten the #1 Hex screw first. Step 4. Confirm that your weapon is unloaded (check the chamber and the magazine). #1 Hex Screw #2 Hex Screw Step 5. Adjust the windage or elevation by turning the windage or elevation knob. Windage: Turning the windage knob clockwise will move the laser point to the right, and turning the knob counter-clockwise will move it to the left. Elevation: Turning the elevation knob clockwise will move the laser point down, and turning it counter-clockwise will move it up. Note, Each click moves the laser point on the target by roughly one-half the diameter of the laser point Figure 3 Step 6. Test fire the weapon to check the new alignment. If necessary, repeat the alignment process from Step 2. above. 13 8 Adjusting Windage/Elevation Adjusting Windage/Elevation Align the unit for windage and elevation as follows: The AR-2A aiming laser is generally prealigned at the factory. Align the white and red dots on the windage and elevation adjustment knobs with the matching white and red dots on the housing to bring the laser back to a zero alignment. See Figure 5. Figure 5 Step 1. Activate the laser and aim the weapon at the target using a sandbag or steady rest. Place the laser point on the center of the target and carefully fire three rounds from the weapon and check the target for the impact point. (See Figure 7) Always check the laser alignment when mounting the unit on your weapon to ensure that the laser is properly aligned for accuracy. Step 2. If the bullet holes are clustered to one side or the other, then you will need to adjust the windage.
