NEW HOME AT KELANTAN TRADE CENTRE

Kota Bharu, 4 March 2011 – Leading insurer Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad has
recently become the newest resident of the Kelantan Trade Centre (KTC) here, where its
Kota Bharu branch will now be based.
The relocation to KTC (from Taman Koperatif where the branch was previously situated) is
in line with the company’s long-term growth strategies. It is part of a major project that
Prudential is undertaking to upgrade and expand many of its branches nationwide.
Charlie Oropeza, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, who graced the grand opening
held at the KTC Convention Hall earlier today, said: “The growing number in both our
agents and customers locally has been the main consideration behind our decision to
move our Kota Bharu branch to a bigger office space.
“We are truly excited with the new location of our branch as we believe it will not only allow
us to serve our customers even better, but also provide our agency force and employees
with a conducive environment to work in. This investment once again reinforces our
absolute commitment to our customers, agents and employees here in Kelantan where
Prudential has been present for over 35 years now,” he said, adding that the company
would be investing approximately RM30 million between 2010 and 2011 for its branch
expansion and enhancement plans across the country.

Occupying the 6th and 7th floor of the KTC, the branch boasts a combined gross floor area
of close to 22,000 square feet and is fully equipped with WIFI convenience. The branch
office which features a modern but friendly interior as well as a comfortable customer
service area, are located on the 6th floor along with two training halls and agency offices.
The remaining agency offices are situated on the 7th floor.
Prudential has a total of 391 agents and 19 agency leaders who are based in the Kota
Bharu branch currently. The company has over 12,000 agents nationwide, of which more
than 4,700 are Bumiputera agents.
In conjunction with the branch grand opening, Prudential also took the opportunity to
donate 16 computer notebooks to Sekolah Kebangsaan Padang Kala here for the school’s
Multimedia Therapy programme designed for students with special needs.
Oropeza said, “In Prudential, we strongly believe that every child deserves the right to
education. It is heartening to know that Sekolah Kebangsaan Padang Kala is running such
a programme to ensure that these special students will have a chance to learn using
computers, just like any other normal children at school. We are certainly very pleased to
lend a helping hand, and hope that our small contribution will go a long way in supporting
the school in running the programme.”
Besides celebrating the inauguration of its new Kota Bharu branch with great fanfare in the
morning, Prudential also treated its invited policyholders to a sumptuous lunch at the KTC
Convention Hall. A variety of exciting activities that included colouring contest for children,
ketupat making contest, Dam Haji, vase decoration and so on were organised for them to
participate. A booth was opened as well to provide simple health check for the guests.
