Damage Stoppers®
Miscellaneous
General
Durable STI Strobe and Horn/Strobe Damage Stopper®
covers are designed to stop vandalism and accidental damage
to the strobe/horn signal units of a fire alarm system. They are
constructed of virtually indestructible clear UV-stabilized
polycarbonate; slots in the horn/strobe cover allow horns to be
heard within UL Standards. This STI line of covers fits most
signaling devices available; spacers are available for larger
horn/strobe units, retrofits, weather resistance, and surfacemount applications.
Features
UL Installation Requirements
• This enclosure is rated to protect light-emitting devices
both indoor and outdoor.
• When covering fire signaling appliances with this
enclosure, some light losses occur. Please follow the
guidelines listed during installation.
• STROBE LIGHT LOSS is 35%. Refer to the appliance

• SOUND OUTPUT LOSS: The use of this cover on audible devices will decrease the sound output by 3 to 6

after installation to determine if adequate sound level
exists. Refer to the notification layout table of NFPA 72
for proper device locations.
• VOICE SPEAKER APPLIANCE: No spacing adjustment
is required for 0.5 watt, 1.0 watt, and 2.0 watt appliances.
• Please note that 0.25 (1/4) WATT SPEAKERS CANNOT
BE USED with this product.
