SOLUTION SALES GUIDE
6. Solution Overview
This solution provides the components necessary to allow total control of entertainment-focused lighting using
the industry leading On-Q/Legrand ALC (Advanced Lighting Control) system. The solution offers a multibutton On-Q ALC ‘scene’ switch for easy ‘one-touch’ control and will interface with most 3rd party control
systems for total home integration. Additionally, the On-Q/Legrand Theater Lighting Solution provides flexible
interfacing so the lighting system can control ancillary devices such as motorized drapes, blinds and projection
screens.
7. Solution Component Overview
On-Q Basic Home Lighting Controller – Located in the service center, the On-Q/Legrand Lighting Controller is
the heart of the On-Q Theater Lighting Solution. The modular system design allows homeowners to have only
those features they need, and expand the system to meet future needs. Its flexible interface and control features
enable it to function as a stand alone lighting system, or integrate with other home management and security
systems. It offers control of 31 On-Q ALC lighting switches, additional control over other low voltage devices,
and is expandable up to 124 On-Q ALC lighting switches. It also allows the homeowner to program, with
additional On-Q ALC “Scene” Switches, up to 64 lighting scenes.
On-Q/Legrand ALC Light Switch – The On-Q ALC switch is a versatile device that allows the control of
incandescent lights. Controls ‘full on’, ‘off’ ‘on to a preset level’ and ‘ramping’ functions. Also provides a
filament saver to conserve energy and increase the life of a light bulb.
Four-Button Scene Switch - A convenient, centrally located four-button switch that allows the user to operate
lights or a group of lights throughout the home with the press of a single button. Easily re-program any of the
four buttons on the scene switch to control lights, and with additional modules, a variety of devices such as
garage doors, motorized window blinds can also be controlled.
I/O (Input/Output) Module – Device that facilitates the communication between the Basic Home Lighting
controller and other ancillary devices designed to create ‘events’. This in turn will allow the control of
motorized drapes, blinds, projection screens and other non-lighting devices.
