Pressure Refueling
(1) Verify that your refueler, hydrant vehicle, or refueling cabinet has the correct number and
type of fire extinguisher available.
(2) Ensure that the fuel truck and fuel nozzle are correctly grounded to the aircraft.
(3) If tanks are to be topped off, battery power to Refuel/Defuel control panel is sufficient. If
tanks are to be filled only partially, tank levels must be monitored on the cockpit fuel quantity
panel. For this, it is necessary to power the AC electrical system from the APU or external
AC. Check with the flight crew for this operation.
(4) Open access door and swing out Refuel/Defuel control panel.
(5) Select POWER switch ON, check that green POWER ON light illuminates.

(8) Open fuel nozzle valve and check that with fuel pressure applied all three green Vent Valve
OPEN lights come on.
(9) Rotate MODE selector to TEST. This simulates tanks to the Automatic Level Control
System.
(10) Select TANK switches of tanks to be filled to FUEL, and check that corresponding amber
SOV OPEN lights come ON.
(11) After 15-30 seconds green SOV CLOSED lights will come ON, showing that the Automatic
Level Control System is working correctly.
(12) Select TANK switches to OFF position.
(13) If test is positive, select MODE switch to FUEL.
(14) Select TANK switches of tanks to be filled to FUEL, check SOV OP lights come ON.
(15) When tanks are full their shut-off valves will close automatically and the green SOV CL
lights will come ON. (16) Select TANK switches to OFF.
(17) Select MODE switch to OFF.
(18) Remove refueling nozzle from receptacle, re-install cover and close door.
(19) Check Vent Valve lights are OFF, switch Power OFF and stow Refuel/Defuel Control
